About Look Wider
What is Look Wider?
Look Wider is the programme for the Senior Section (ages 14-26) in the Guide Association. It is based around the eight OCTANTS.

Independant Living
Personal Values
International
Fit for life
Community Action
Leadership

Each octant is split into three PHASES.

Phase 1 - Three challenges that are new to you. A dabble.

Phase 2 - one challenge in more depth (about 3 months)

Phase 3 - one challenge. a qualification or passing on knowledge to others.

A Senior Section member working on Look Wider chooses a support group (friends, other members, relations, teachers, peers) who help her diecide on her challenge and help her decide if she has completted it.

Who can do Look Wider?
Any member of the Guide Association between the ages of 14 and 26. That's older Guides, Rangers, Young Leaders, Guiders, Commissioners, BYC, Link, SSAGO and others!

Rewards?
If a member complettes all three PHASES from one OCTANT she gets an OCTANT CERTIFICATE. If she complettes all of the PHASE ones and twos she gets her Chief Guide Challenge Award (she musty make her promise to recieve this).
